Tiratanaloka is a Buddhist retreat centre for women and is situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is run by community of eight women living a vision exploring the Buddhism through friendship, teamwork and the retreats. These retreats are for Dharmacharinis (Ordained members) and women training for ordination. Dhanakosa is a Buddhist, Meditation and Yoga retreat centre in Scotland, an ideal place for learning meditation and complimentary activities like yoga, tai chi, hillwalking, and shiatsu. Dhanakosa sits by the shores of Loch Voil in the Balquhidder valley, and is surrounded by the magnificent mountains and forests of the southern Scottish Highlands. 15 miles from Callander and only one and a half hours drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh, Dhanakosa is easily accessible by public transport and provides a quiet and beautiful setting for retreats. Rivendell is a Buddhist retreat centre in Sussex, in south-east England, within easy reach of London and Brighton. They offer a varied programme of meditation retreats throughout the year. Rivendell lies in the rolling Sussex countryside, on the edge of Ashdown Forest. The house is set in beautiful spacious gardens, with ponds and woods. From here there are many lovely country walks. Vajrasana is the London Buddhist Centre’s retreat venue in Suffolk. They run a wide variety of retreats exploring Buddhism, Meditation, Yoga and the Arts. The beautiful countryside makes this an ideal location. The retreats cater for anything from ten to forty people. Vajrasana is set in rolling Suffolk 'hills' with lots of good walks all round. There are two large paddocks in which we are currently planting over two hundred trees. The shrine room was built using a special ecological straw bale technique. There are also two huts available for people who wish to retreat on their own. BuddhaField is a collective of men and women from the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order (FWBO) Buddhists from all over the UK and beyond. They teach meditation and Buddhism at various festivals, fairs and similar events as well as running the BuddhaField Cafe. They also run a number of retreat camps eash year, and each summer organise their own festival hosting up to 2000 people! The Dharmapala College plays an active part in the emerging Buddhist culture in the West. Initiated by members of the Western Buddhist Order, it invites the participation of everyone inspired by the ideals of collaborative enquiry into reality and open-handed sharing of understanding and experience.
