Staying at Wild Geese Acres Solitary caravan
I stayed in the caravan for a few days in 2022, before the recent additions of a composting toilet and hot water :-). It is a compact space but I found it comfortable, in an absolutely beautiful spot, a tranquil little haven in fact. Sukamala and James are fabulous hosts, well tuned in and sensitive to the needs of their guests. I loved (and needed) the peace and quiet, sitting outside just looking at the pond, and enjoyed eating the organic vegetables! I found nice walks including down by the canal, and loved going to the coast to swim in the sea (I had a car).
Review
This is a welcoming space with beautiful surrounds. Very quiet and simple. A perfect solitary venue. Hosts are respectful, helpful and understanding of the needs of a solitary retreatant. I will definitely be back.
Wild Geese Acres
Sukamala and her partner James live on an organic smallholding set in a wonderfully idyllic setting. Wild Geese Acres, is on the Somerset/Devon border and just 10 minutes walk from the Great Western canal path and the caravan I stayed in is set beside a large lily pond in a quiet area on their land. I travelled there by train from Suffolk, which was great, smooth and easy with good on-time connections. Sukamala was so warm and welcoming and during my stay I was blessed with goose eggs and gorgeous organic salad. I returned from my retreat feeling rested and restored.
